International Conference of Beekeeping Organisations
Slovenian Beekeepers Association is organising the International Conference of Beekeeping Organisations from the European Union and beyond this fall. The theme of the conference is presenting the structure of beekeepers organisations and current issues related to beekeeping in individual countries. The conference will take place at the headquarters of the Slovenian Beekeepers Association, Brdo 8, 1225 Lukovica on 27 September 2010 at 5 pm.
During the 41st Apimondia Congress organised in September 2009 in France, the following organisations confirmed their attendance at the conference in principle:
- The Czech Beekeepers Union,
- The Serbian Beekeeping Association,
- The Federation of Greek Beekeepers' Associations,
- The Slovak Association of Beekeepers,
- The Brotherhood of Beekeepers of Ukraine,
- The National Beekeepers’ Association of Italy
- The German Beekeepers Association,
- The Austrian Beekeepers Association,
- The Polish Beekeepers Association,
- The Bulgarian Beekeeping Association.
The theme of the conference is presenting the structure of beekeepers organisations and current issues related to beekeeping in individual countries. This presentation is aimed at determining the correspondence between these countries. The joint findings and conclusions from the conference will be sent to the competent beekeeping institutions in the European Union. In the light of the current situation in beekeeping, we all undoubtedly agree that the conference must speak for the placement of the bee on the endangered species list in Europe.
Each representative of the beekeeping organisation will be given 15 minutes for his or her presentation. The presentation must be prepared using PowerPoint. The official language of the conference will be English. We will also take this opportunity to publish a brochure in English with a presentation of the beekeepers associations and beekeeping.
The conference will take place at the headquarters of the Slovenian Beekeepers Association, Brdo 8, 1225 Lukovica on 27 September 2010 at 5 pm. Representatives of the beekeepers associations will meet at the headquarters of the Slovenian Beekeepers Association at 3 pm.
Applications should be send to the Slovenian Beekeepers Association at Brdo 8, 1225 Lukovica, Slovenia by 10 February 2010 at the latest. The organisations that apply for the conference will receive all further information by email.
