TRIP TO THE KARST WORLD AND ITS UNDERGROUND
DAY 1: LJUBLJANA

Visit to the Apimedica & Apiquality 2010 fair at Gospodarsko razstavišče – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ljubljana. Time for lunch. After lunch drive to Lukovica to visit Beekeeping centre. Afterwards, drive to Ljubljana, a modern capital, which has succeeded in maintaining its friendly and relaxed small-town atmosphere. This vibrant city offers many attractions: sights, like the triple bridge – Tromostovje, market, cathedral, the old town with Robba's fountain, etc. At the end of the day a funicular ride to Ljubljana Castle, which offers a breathtaking view of the city. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 2: LIPICA & POSTOJNA

Morning departure from Ljubljana to Lipica and a visit of the event premesis of the local beekeepers. Visit a market displaying bee products, taste different bee products and listen to a presentation on beekeeping. Continue driving to Lokev and visit the oldest prosciutto producer in the Slovene Karst region and taste its products. Time for lunch. Afterwards visit a local bee-keeper in Povirje, taste honey and take a look at a karst stone beehive. Next take a drive to Postojna and a tour of the Postojna Cave, a world's tourist attraction. After sightseeing, make a short stop at the Predjama Castle, carved into a high rocky wall. Return to Ljubljana.

TRIP TO THE ALPINE WORLD
DAY 1: LJUBLJANA

Morning departure from Ljubljana to Bled, one of the finest alpine places, known for the Bled island with a baroque church and a castle on a high cliff above the lake. Upon arrival, a ride on a pletna boat to the island and visit the castle. Afterwards the event premises visit of the local beekeepers and a market displaying bee products, taste different bee products and listen to a presentation on beekeeping. Time for lunch. After lunch a short stop at a restored bee hive in Breznica, the birthplace of Anton Janša, the beginner of modern beekeeping and one of the best experts on bees. A drive to Lesce to visit a local bee-keeper and taste honey products. Afterwards a drive to Radovljica. In Radovljica a visit of the museum, which shows the complete history of Slovenian bee-keeping heritage, with special emphasis on the 18th and 19th century. Return to Ljubljana.

Morning departure from Ljubljana to Dolenjske Toplice and a visit of the event premises of the local beekeepers. Visit a market displaying bee products, taste bee products and listen to a presentation on beekeeping. Afterwards a drive to Novo Mesto and a visit of a local beekeeper with honey tasting, a presentation on beekeeping and the production of honey packaging from clay. A brief stop at Otočec, the location of the only water castle in Slovenia. Continue to Paha, visit the 150-year-old Matjaž house, taste Cviček, the typical wine of the region, and buckwheat bread with walnuts and cheese. Time for lunch. Then visit Kostanjevica na Krki, a town which lies on an artificial island in the river Krka. At the end of the trip, visit the Carthusian Monastery Pleterje with the Trinity Church, a unique example of a Gothic sacral building in Central Europe, an outdoor museum and a pottery workshop. The monastery also keeps bees, which enable the production of candles from beeswax and other bee products. After the visit return to Ljubljana.

Drive continues to Ptuj to enjoy the sightseeing of the oldest Slovenian town, lying under the majestic medieval castle. In Maribor time for lunch. After lunch, a visit the event premises of the local beekeepers and a market displaying bee products, taste bee products and listen to a presentation on beekeeping. Afterwards a brief stop in Lent, the old town of Maribor and a visit of the oldest vine in the world. Upon arrival follows a visit of the baroque mansion Betnava and taste honey beverages, among others their specialty – honey champagne. A drive to Hoče and a visit the Botanical Garden Pivola, which grows many honey plant species. Return to Ljubljana.
